How to play
(A brief description of how the betting on a Roulette table works.)
The basic concept behind playing roulette is the placement of bets based on a 'POSSIBILITY' vs 'PROBABILITY' scenario.
Casinos rely on players betting on the 'possibility' of a result . . . the author would term such bets as 'impulse' betting.
'The Document' on offer attempts to load the potential result of any given 'spin-of-the-wheel' as a 'probability' result in favour of the player.
There is absolutely no way of winning with every bet that is placed. However, if one can set up a strategy whereby one wins once for approximately every 10 bets placed . . . for any single 'bet method' being used (as discussed in 'The Document') . . . then the odds definitely swing in favour of the player.
We now continue with the actual system of bet placement.
As per the layout above there are 7 different 'basic' ways of placing a bet on a roulette table.
Having said that, there are, in fact, numerous additional 'methods' . . . these will be discussed as part of the 'Advanced Options' to be dealt with at the end of 'The Document'.
Each bet placed covers a finite group of numbers. The more 'table numbers' a bet covers, the higher the possibility it has of being successful, the lower the 'payout factor' becomes.
An 'A-bet' covers only one number and has the highest return = 35-1.
A 'G-bet' covers ½ the table (excluding '0') and has the lowest return = 1-1.
For each bet placed, the formula to calculate 'payout factor': - ( (36 / 'no's covered') - 1).
The actual 'payout' is = ('payout factor' * no. of chips placed)
Based on the above 'bet options', the 'payout factor' is:
No's | Chips Bet | Payout | Bet | ||
Category | Covered | Min. | Max. | (per chip) | Odds |
~~~~~~ | ~~~~~ | ~~~ | ~~~ | ~~~~~ | ~~~ |
A | 1 | 1 | 20 | 35 | 35-1 |
B | 2 | 1 | 40 | 17 | 17-1 |
C | 3 | 1 | 60 | 11 | 11-1 |
D | 4 | 1 | 80 | 8 | 8-1 |
E | 6 | 1 | 120 | 5 | 5-1 |
F | 12 | 10 | 200 | 2 | 2-1 |
G | 18 | 10 | 400 | 1 | 1-1 |
There are numerous 'additional bet methods'. Most of these are known as the 'French Bets'. When the player wishes to make such a bet, the bet is 'called' & the appropriate number of chips handed to the dealer. These bets only apply to the 'European wheel' layout.
- Neighbours-to-zero: the bet is '9-chips' handed to the dealer. The numbers covered include 17 numbers each side of 'zero':
22 - 18 - 29 - 7 - 28 - 12 - 35 - 3 - 26 - 0 - 32 - 15 - 19 - 4 - 21 - 2 - 25
These are grouped in 'B-bets' - i.e. 'splits' - paying out '17-1':
0-2-3(2) / 4-7 / 12-15 / 18-21 / 19-22 / 25-26-28-29 (2) / 32-35 - Serie-5-8: the bet is '6-chips' handed to the dealer. The numbers covered include 12 numbers opposite to 'zero' on the wheel:
33 - 16 - 24 - 5 - 10 - 23 - 8 - 30 - 11 - 36 - 13 - 27
These are grouped in 'B-bets' - i.e. 'splits' - paying out '17-1':
5-8 / 10-11 / 13-16 / 23-24 / 27-30 / 33-36 - Orphans: the bet is '5-chips' handed to the dealer. The numbers included are all those not covered by the '2-bets' above:
1 - 6 - 9 - 14 - 17 - 20 - 31 - 34
The bets are:
1 / 3-6 / 14-17 / 17-20 / 31-34
There are more bet strategies. These are covered in detail in 'The Document' on offer.
